openEuler operations and monitoring
Start with a minimal “is this machine healthy” loop before adding platforms. openEuler’s system administration matches EL habits; this page lists the loop and entry points.
The official operations entry point
Section titled “The official operations entry point”The docs center’s Server scenario explicitly covers installation, upgrades, management, performance tuning and application development — treat it as the authoritative starting point for operations topics beyond this page.
Logs and metrics
Section titled “Logs and metrics”Built-in tools cover the basics: vmstat/pidstat for resource trends, ss -s for connection scale. Persist journald, then sweep the day’s errors:
journalctl -p err --since todaysystemctl --failedCentralised log retention is generic practice — see the hub’s log management and monitoring guides.
Observing performance
Section titled “Observing performance”Order of attack: CPU load composition → memory pressure → disk IO → network retransmits. Concrete tuning follows Performance tuning; the official Server scenario guide is the authoritative reference.
When something fires
Section titled “When something fires”Narrow the scope: service state, then local logs, then recent changes. Repo errors go to Repo troubleshooting; boot failures to Boot troubleshooting; the general framework is the hub’s troubleshooting methodology.
Where to read next
Section titled “Where to read next”Observation feeds Performance tuning; hardening baselines and advisory tracking are covered in Security hardening. The upstream docs center’s Server scenario is the authoritative operations reference.
